Crop Insurance Decisions for 2012
Crop Insurance Decisions for 2012
Every year, farmers are faced with several options for crop insurance. What coverage levels? Crop revenue insurance? ACRE (Average Crop Revenue Election)?
Doug Yoder, the Senior Director of Marketing and Affiliate Management with the Illinois Farm Bureau, will be at the Peoria County Farm Bureau on Tuesday, January 31, at 9 a.m. to help sort through all of the crop insurance options. Yoder has given numerous presentations over the years on crop insurance and is very knowledgeable on the topic.
Illinois farmers have until March 15 to sign up for spring federal crop insurance policies. High input costs, volatile grain markets and incertain weather pose risks for farmers and their grain operations. Federal crop insurance offers one way to protect farmer's grain assets and protect themselves against a potential price decline.
New enhancements for farmerts in 2012 that Yoder will cover include the Trend-Adjusted APH Opiton, and a new rating methodology that will reduce farmer premiums.
Call the Peoria County Farm Bureau for reservations at 686-7070. There is no cost for Farm Bureau members. Light refreshments will be served.
